Genesis GV70 Revealed: An Athletic Little Brother for the GV80

The SUV market has been booming for roughly two decades now, and one thing is clear. SUVs aren’t going anywhere.

Genesis held a digital release on the all new GV70 today, and it’s clear that they weren’t satisfied with just one SUV option in their lineup. Genesis’ first SUV, the GV80, was introduced earlier this year and have been on the streets for a short while now. Designed to compete with the GLS-class, the X7, and other large luxury-SUVs, Genesis left themselves plenty of space to fill between their lineup of sedans and the GV80.

Enter the GV70, which has similar streamlined looks that bear a resemblance to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Porsche Macan. Built on the same chassis as its older sibling, the GV70 features Genesis’ signature crest grille, split LED headlights, and a peculiar rear-quarter window.

Genesis plans on offering a pretty substantial Sport package for the GV70 too. Improved 21-inch wheels, unique smoked chrome trim, and a large diameter exhaust will all be included. The Sport package will also offer exclusive paint colors and interior trim, which includes carbon fiber fits because… well, why not?

No performance specifications are available yet (including whether or not the Sport package will feature a powertrain upgrade), but we expect to hear more from Genesis soon. In the meantime, take a look at the gallery below and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
